Volunteer Toolkit
This toolkit has been designed by the DRISHTEE Foundation to establish sustainable and self-reliant communities in rural areas. It serves as a practical guide for volunteers, empowering them to make their villages Swavalambi (self-reliant).
Through this toolkit, you will learn:
- The Meaning of Swavalamban: The capacity to fulfill one's own needs, which makes individuals and communities confident and moves them towards sustainable development.
- Understanding the Village: How to understand your village its social, caste, and cultural diversity, divide it into smaller units called Tolas (hamlets), and prepare an effective village map for better understanding.
- Forming the Committee: The process of forming the Swavalamban Samiti (Self-Reliance governance Committee), which is nominated by the community representing the village for its development, and gives direction toward development.
- Community Leadership: How to conduct meetings, explain the importance of leadership in community development, and nominate representatives based on the principle of Shared Prosperity (साझा संकल्प से साझी समृद्धि).
This toolkit will help you plant a strong seed of development in your village. By following it, you can ensure the participation of every member and transform your village into a skilled "Vatika", where social and economic development flourishes, and after completion of this volunteerism certification, is provided.
